AGRO2CIRCULAR – Territorial Circular Systemic solution for the upcyclig of residues from the agrifood market
The Agro2Circular (A2C) European project aims at developing new solutions for the upcycling of residues from the agri-food sector (in particular from fruit&vegetables and plastic multilayers) into high added value products. The main steps will be to create new value chain systems for the upcycling, provide new technological solutions and favour the scale up in new context. To do so 41 partners have been involved to find out new circular economy strategies in order to overtake the challenges faced by the agri-food sector. The project will act at different levels: i) re-valorising the F&V wastes which are not currently fully exploited in order to become excellent source of natural bioactive; ii) acting on the recycling of post-industrial multilayer plastic films which will be scouting by A2C by combining innovative solutions, iii) improving the digitalisation along the food supply chain to ensure a traceability system through a Data Integration System (DIS) will be implemented. Ended up with the replicability and scalability of all the tasks of the project throughout different European countries to increase the use of the circular economy model in the agri-food sector. Tecnoalimenti will contribute studying the applicability in Lombardy Region.
